What a track! The bass line is bad-ass, and the band seems to have entered a very series phase. This is a song about the Jamestown flood, way back in the beginnings of our country. Why this? I suspect that our lead guitar player and scholar John Ohlmann was the source. It begins with a short section of mandolin, and excellent drumming by Richard Baker. And the singer dies in a watery grave.
lyrics
On the flood...on the fire side
People died, they had no time
On the side, the flood went down
The flood was lost on many souls
It took us down...a heavy load
People died that had only hate
I lost my father there...and my sister fell down so low
She died in a water grave..so afraid that I lost my way
I been alone in this watery grave
Oh my son be so afraid
I died in this watery grave
I been down....
I died in this watery grave
I been down...
