about

John Ohlmann suggested that we do a tribute song to the goth author..H.P. Lovecraft. He was a favorite writer of scary mysteries that involved beings from the other dimension. His book..Mountains of Madness was the text we used for this song. It tells a tale of a young man going into the frozen north to find the ruins of an ancient city. The mythic gods live there, but so does extreme evil. Story telling around the camp fire in the mountains of madness.

lyrics

I took my flame at night, not knowing where to go. They said they would take me there...to the place of snow. Everything was turning to Ice. I looked out from the pain, I saw a giant thing... we were entering a land of snow..in their sight...we were entering a foreign land...a land of madness. A place that no one should live. Leading us to a place built by ancient beings...places and forces of death...but let me See in this ice we departed from our plane..made our tents and packed our provisions...ready to explore that land of snow and ice...where no one had gone, forgotten in time... these were The Mountains of Madness. I was afraid when we saw the blood stained snow...but we marched forward until we found some carvings not by man..they were made by creatures who lived long ago..those with tentacle arms...eyes that glow... Great Cthulhu.. gods who sucked man's brain... ancient clan..here before man..I saw the ice castle before me... so near...squids and monsters and things...then there was a shout...of madness...we marched on....we would go up to the highest hill...a structure carved out of the snow...a group of albino penguins.......but penguins are black....my god we entered that ice castle..the very room carved out by those ancient creatures...I smelled...a green moss covered everything...I had never seen anything so black...this was the closest to hell that man would know..this was the place of the ancient Cthulhu Gods... god help us...help us.....
