It must have been Richard Baker that came up with this theme. I certainly liked the idea of a love gone horribly wrong: a romantic serial killer theme that could create an interesting verse as internal mind narrative. So here was love, here was love ending, here was love in some dirty ally with the lovers laying in the filth of humanity. It was a big theme. A metaphor for the world that in 1983 was blossoming for me as a family man...but I sensed a coming darkness for many around me.
lyrics
I kissed my Victim
I laid her in the ground
It was dark and very cold
Like Stone.....
I kissed my Victim
I laid her down...down in the ground
She was cold, blood on her neck
She is dead
I kissed my Victim...I laid her down
So cold, all alone, everything I've ever known
(Yea it was dark, down that street, saw her coming, a pretty girl
the kind I like to meet...I was breathing now really hard
The blood rising now..that girl..she was meant for me
I took her there, running fast, I threw her down, down in the ground
I made her grave and held her down, but I....)
I Kissed My Victim
I kissed her everywhere and drew the blood
I Kissed My Victim
Now she is dead..cold cold feet up to her head
I Kissed My Victim...I really did.
