We were discussing James Brown. How the funk sound moved people into sexual vibrations, dancing like mating. "Get Down" is a very danceable tune with lyrics suggesting sex play..."get down on what's up!" We often mixed comedy with the brutal reality of life..and our band found great joy in imitating the great musicians in all genres. As in all for the Hit Machine material...when appropriate I played a set of "cardboard tubes" with leather applied to the top. I hit the tubes with mallets..very tribal...very dumpster aesthetic...very humble drums.
